Let's Start Small

I want to get back in the habit of blogging. I know - I have said it before...but I think I might be able to do it - maybe - I think - possibly - ok - I am going to try.

So let's start small.

Going to see THIS on Sunday at 7:30pm.
I love me some Theresa R. - she doesn't always deliver, but when she does it ROCKS my world.

I remember meeting her for the first time after Paul (the BF) and I saw her play at Playwrigths Horizons. It was opening night of BUTTERFLY COLLECTION and all Paul and I could talk about was how much we loved her movie GOSSIP. Ridiculous...but we LOVED IT! We just thought it was great and made our top ten list of Guilty Pleasures for the year. Oh - and BUTTERFLY COLLECTION was good too!

BTW - Theresa is re-doing BUTTERFLY COLLECTION and calling it NOVEL - is this true? Or am I making that up.

Anyway - I will let you know about the show after we see it.

Bix-table.

Now For Something Different than Theater!

The internet and cable news shows are buzzing about the possibility of Hillary Clinton taking on the role of Sec. of State in Obama's new presidency.

I think this is an incredible idea.

I hope she takes it.

What do you think?

I am in Chicago right now - staying in a fancy hotel room at the W with an AWESOME view of the lake. I love it.

I managed to squeeze in a trip to the theater while I am here...and I went to see The Brothers Karamazov at The Lookingglass Theatre (the company started by a young David Schwimmer before he became a household name in Friends).

Lookingglass does wonderful, inventive work and Brothers did not dissappoint.

The thing I loved most about the show was the intimacy of the production. Audience were situated on all four sides of the stage and I sat in a front row seat on a corner. Scenes were literally happening about 4 inches from my nose.

I fucking LOVE that. (I can use that word - since this blog isn't supported by Yahoo!).
I have to remember how alive theatre in the round (or square in this case) is. It is just so thrilling to feel like you are sitting right in the middle of the action...sort of like a wrestling match...but different.

If you live in Chicago (or are just visiting) go see this show!

Damaged Wounds

Go See The Most Damaging Wound...
This new show by The Production Company is a fun and funny stop at the theater.

Expertly directed by Mark Armstrong (one of THE nicest people in NY theater) and featuring a GREAT performance by Meg McQuillen.

Check it out.

Breaking the Silence

I know I have left people hanging - and I know you are very curious about what is going on. I am not sure I am really able to talk about it. Not because it is so juicy or scandalous or anything like that...but because it doesn't seem to be "official" yet and I don't really want to cause any problems with the folks at Yahoo!

I will say more later - but right now I will say that Two on the Aisle is over for now.
(Clearly. Right? You are thinking...you haven't posted in weeks - of course it is over). But the blog is done.

It was a great year and I really enjoyed doing it. Although, writing a real blog FIVE days a week can be a bit of a hassle.

I am trying to figure out what to do now...I think I am going to start posting here at BIXTABLE and see where we go from there.

It might be fun, because I can really dish some dish here on a private blog...heheheehhehe.
If you want to come back here and check it out - please do - and leave some comments too - that is the BEST part of writing a blog! Yay!

Be Back Soon!

P.S. - I am seeing Burn This at Juilliard this weekend and maybe the new show at The Production Company with one of my fav actresses in NYC Meg McQuillen! I will let you all know what I thought.

Bye Bye Blog

Hi Everyone -
So. Today I start my new Yahoo! Broadway Blog called "Two On The Aisle".
It is going to be GREAT!
Check it out at www.broadway.yahoo.com and click on BLOG.

What does this mean to you?
Well - I won't be blogging here anymore a.) because I won't have time to blog in two places and b.) because I won't have time to blog in two places!

I will keep this around for folks who might be looking for me and to post info about my own shows and readings and stuff like that.

So - check back every now and then for some info...but check out Yahoo! Broadway on a daily basis!

Thanks!
